“Before I began my coaching with Candy, I honestly struggled with staying on track. I knew the basics of what to do exercise-wise and what foods would fuel my body. However, my tummy (& heart for all things food) always seemed to knock me off track by day 3 or 4! Then Candy taught me that honoring our bodies, by exercising and eating nutritious foods, should not be viewed as a punishment, but instead a reward!

The 3 most significant results I’ve experienced from coaching with Candy are 1. Having a better relationship with food and the way I view it. She taught me to begin asking myself the “why” behind my choices, since I am very much an emotional eater. 2. MODERATION! Candy teaches in a way that doesn’t make you feel guilty for that bad choice of snack, meal, etc. She has taught me to allow myself those occasional treats and then get back on it! 3. Moving your body is a privilege and helps in more ways than just your physical being. Who knew I would look forward to my daily morning walks so much??

“Prior to spending time with Coach Candy, I struggled with eating issues, was pretty much sitting or napping a large portion of the day and had to take pain medicine 1-2 times daily. Especially at bedtime, to dull the pain & be able to hopefully sleep a few hours straight.

During our sessions, Coach Candy assisted me with a paradigm shift in my thought processes. Regarding meals and snacks – I don’t stuff myself now or feel the need to clean the plate if I am full, or even as a guest somewhere. I’ve started making much healthier choices; like snacking on almonds or granola bars rather than cookies and chips. We’ve added frozen fruits and vegetables to more meals; rather than so much processed & shelf stable food options.

Coach Candy walked me through visualizing results in the future & how different parts of daily life could be if we reached those goals. Now, I don’t feel angry & ready to pass out after bringing groceries and my PreK kiddo up 19 stairs each day after any errands. At bedtime, it’s reduced to just 1-2 times per week that I may have an ibuprofen; not consistently and not the “highest dosage.”

With the support of our weekly chats, I learned to give myself grace when exercise or meals or life was beyond rough, rather than getting negative about messing up & going into a bad spiral. Coach Candy radiated kindness, encouragement, and practical advice every single session. She celebrated the wins- big or small – with me as I began adding more movement to my life & deleting naps and reducing “relaxing” tv time.

In our home, we are cooking more healthy. I lost 8 lbs during our 90days together; yet it was 2 sizes down on pants. Since the last session, I’ve continued on with the movement & other adjustments and plans we created. I am now down 16.5 lbs. Which is amazing! This is excess weight I’ve been dealing with since 2009.

What a gift it was to partner with Candy as a life coach! Before walking through our session together I had no idea where to look or how to identify some of the stumbling blocks that were keeping me stuck! Our consistent conversations allowed Candy to ask just the right questions about habits and behaviors, responses and avoidances which brought so many “aha” moments.

I was struggling to get back into an exercise rehab routine after a long physical disability. She guided me into setting smaller, more achievable goals which could set me up for success every week. She also taught me the importance of breathing properly and how many things it can affect when we don’t! Who knew such a small thing could make such a difference. 😊

The most important things I think that I took away from our time together was that 1) no matter what the goal, if we break it apart into manageable steps, it can and will be achieved. 2) when we have a setback day.. have grace for yourself because it’s just that.. a “setback day, not a “crash and burn day”. Keep going, keep after it and it will happen.

Candy has such an energy and heart for seeing people improve, achieve, dream, accomplish.. all the things that build us up as women! She is a natural encourager but will still keep you on your toes! It’s a positive accountability that we all need to have around us. I’m grateful for the skills I learned through our sessions. They are simple, yet truly impactful.
